Caring for young eyes
During their early years, eyesight helps children learn about the world around them.
Later in life, as kids progress through school, their eyesight allows them to read, study and explore. As a result, being able to see well is critical to your child's development.
In most cases children aren’t even aware that they have any problems with their eyes as they don’t know any different. However, some eye conditions need to be treated sooner rather than later for the treatment to be successful. That’s why it’s important to make sure your child has regular eye tests.
Typically we recommend the first eye test is about the time they start school, but it can be earlier if you have any worries about their vision. Children’s eye tests are covered by the NHS.
We try and make our kids appointments as relaxed and as fun as possible. It doesn’t matter if they can’t read letters yet as we have other tricks up our sleeves to ensure an accurate eye exam!
